Any homeowner who owns a lawn will know how important a leveled lawn mower deck is. When you buy your Husqvarna lawn mower, you need to know how to level a Husqvarna lawn mower deck so that the blades don’t go too close to the ground.

You see, if the deck is too low, it will scrape away the lawn and ruin it. That’s why leveling a Husqvarna mower deck is very important in keeping your lawn’s health.

Fortunately, we know exactly how to do that and we are going to teach that to you in this article.

Reasons Why Your Lawn Mower Deck In Unleveled

If you find your Husqvarna deck too low, there could be a number of reasons for that.

Before we go to the guide on how to level a Husqvarna riding mower deck, it’s better to first understand the reasons as to why it is unleveled in the first place.

Here they are below:

  • Low deck making the blades too low
  • Tilted deck that can cause the blades to have an angle
  • Overextended blades from the deck
  • Wet and uneven lawns

These are some of the main causes for uneven lawn mower decks. However, they can all be fixed if you can do a simple Husqvarna lawn mower height adjustment– which we are going to teach you right below.

How To Level A Husqvarna Lawn Mower Deck Guide

The first thing you need to do is get the right materials and tools for the job. You’ll need adjustable wrenches, measuring tape, a bicycle tire pump, and an air pressure gauge.

Once you have all of those, you can follow these steps:

1. Prepare Your Lawn Mower

Before doing anything, you need to prep up your lawn mower. First, make sure that it is placed on a flat surface. After that, press on the brake lever and push the clutch upward. This will stop the blades. After that, pull the attachment lever on the left and place it on the highest configuration.

2. Turn On The Lawn Mower

After that, ignite the lawn mower and leave it in ignition. After that, open the engine hood and take out the spark plug boot. This will allow the engine to cool down.

3. Check The Pressure

Take out the valve stem cover of each tire and bring out your air pressure gauge. For low pressure, add more air to the tires. If the air pressure is too much, let go of some of the air inside the tire.

The key here is to make sure that the pressure matches the listen figure in the tire itself. It should never have more air than the listed figure.

4. Adjust The Blades

For this step, you may need to have a pair of leather gloves so that you won’t cut yourself. In this step, you need to turn the blades on the both sides of the deck so that they are symmetrical.

Make sure that you measure the distance of the left blade and the right blade to the ground in order to know if it is too near. After that, take out your wrench and adjust the nuts on the driver’s seat to lift the deck.

Turn the nut left to lower it and turn it right to raise it.

5. Measure The Blade To The Ground

The adjusting of the blades may take awhile, but you need to make sure that the front measurement should be ⅛ inches to up to ½ inches lower than the back measurement. If you haven’t gotten that measurement, go back to step 4 until you do.

6. Put Everything Back In Place

Now that you’ve leveled your lawn mower deck, the last thing to do is put everything back in place and test your lawn mower. If everything is good, then you’re good to go. If not, repeat the steps again.

Conclusion

Sure, it may be a little bit complicated to level your lawn mower deck at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’ll be easy. As long as you follow these steps on how to level a Husqvarna lawn mower deck, you’ll get the job done.

So, make sure you memorize this guide by heart the next time this type of problem happens.
